You may remember that in 2019 we reported the sale of Kiwa Compliance International (Shield Group International) and our separation from the Kiwa Group. This decision was driven by the understanding that Shield Group International’s business would have an improved future as an independent business with dedicated backing from an investor. In April 2019 this led to sale of the group to Shield Group’s management team and the leading investment house LDC.
Since then we have been operating as a standalone company within Shield Group International under our own local brand; Kiwa Compliance Nederland. In 2020 we recognised the opportunity to start gradually migrating to one brand for our activities across Europe. This began with the holding company, Shield Group International undergoing its own brand evolution to become ‘SGI Compliance’, an updated and more aspirational name for our business. From March 2021 Kiwa Compliance Nederland and its subsidiaries Kiwa Compliance, Kiwa Oesterbaai Maritime & Offshore and Kiwa Inspection & Testing will begin its own transition to the new group brand. This represents an important step in the future of the business as we start to bring together the capabilities of our European group.
In recent years SGI Compliance have became a renowned and trusted partner in Europe working with clients in the built environment. Our vision is to create healthy environments where people can live and work together in safety. We now offer a full range of compliance services in hazardous materials, water safety and asbestos. Moving our local country brands to the group brand and so simplifying the brand structure enables SGI Compliance to improve its customer communication, professionalise and extend the range of services and unite our employees across Europe. This will provide a lasting platform for our business
Anthony Chant, Group CEO, explains; “Following the buyout of the business by management and LDC one of the key challenges we had was to unite and bring together our businesses under a single, consistent brand vision, mission and set of values for the group to use as a platform for its future.”
“I’m very excited about what this change means for the future. The various regional brands that make up the SGI Compliance business have been through a number of changes over the past few years and moving to a single brand, that everyone feels passionate about, will hopefully act as a catalyst to drive awareness, advocacy and ultimately growth”.
However, not all business will be changing, our laboratories in Belgium and France will remain as ‘Fibrecount’ given their differentiated proposition. In the UK, SGI Compliance’s largest business, the transition will be managed over a longer time period at some point beyond 2022 to allow proper planning.
