We are writing to inform you of the actions that we have taken to ensure the well-being of our colleagues and customers, in response to the growing threat from Coronavirus.
Shortly after the coronavirus outbreak occurred in China, we began reviewing and implementing provisions as a part of our overall business continuity plan. This plan outlines specific steps Shield Group has and continues to take to safeguard employees’ and customers’ health and well-being during a pandemic while ensuring the Company’s ability to maintain fundamental operations and continue providing essential services to our customers. We have coronavirus action teams in each of our countries who are meeting daily to monitor, action and adapt to the situation.
Safety of our employees and customers
We have taken the following actions within our business to ensure the safety and wellbeing of employees and customers. The plan includes:
- Ensuring employees receive regular briefings regarding hygiene and stay at home protocols consistent with local government advice
- Increasing the deployment of antibacterial hand sanitisers and hand wipes within the business. Installation of posters to reinforce good practice regarding hand-washing
- Introducing software to enable remote working and actively encouraging home working
- Supporting our field based staff with additional PPE and guidance
We review guidance daily and update based on the latest local government advice.
Keeping our operations running – we are still here for you
We’ve already taken a range of steps to maintain our service to you, but you may experience a longer wait than usual when contacting us or scheduling work.
If that happens I apologise in advance and promise that we will return to normal service as quickly as possible.
For the majority of our customers, their requirements are safety crititcal and we are working hard to support customers to complete safety critical work throughout this time.
The senior management team and Board of Directors of Shield Group take the coronavirus threat seriously and we are taking all reasonable measures to prepare for and mitigate the risk of coronavirus to our team members, our customers and our business.
